Don’t take sides in religious matters – CAC tells FG
Pastor Abraham Akinosun
The President of Christ Apostolic Church, Pastor Abraham Akinosun, has urged the Federal Government to find solution to the killing of Christians in Kaduna State, saying the government should not support a religion against another.
Condemning the recent killings in Southern Kaduna, the cleric said there was a need for the Federal and Kaduna State governments to take drastic steps that would resolve the crisis between the indigenes of the state and bandits killing people in the area.
Akinosun stated this on Friday while speaking with our correspondent after the inauguration of the C.A.C. Staff Guest House on the campus of Joseph Ayo Babalola University, Ikeji-Arakeji, Osun State.
He said, “Our leaders must see all religions as equal and none must be placed over the other.
“For any government or people at the helm to support Islam at the expense of other religions amounts to suicide and this will not be allowed in this country. Our government should be fair to all and do justice to all.”
Akinosun expressed optimism that the current economic recession in the country would come to an end, saying it was a blessing in disguise for the people of the country as it would lead to the discovery of potential embedded in Nigerians.
“There was a time in the history of Ghana and India when they had this kind of experience, but today, the story of these nations has changed. Very soon, we will also laugh in Nigeria and the time is near.”
Also speaking, the Chairman of the building committee of the church, Pastor Wemimo Odunaya, said the new guest house was meant for the workers of the church, who are members of the national savings scheme of the church.
He said, “It is an investment, which, when it yields profits, the profits will be shared among all the members of the scheme.”
