4-yr-old girl raped by runaway vigilante leader
The defiling of a 4-year-old girl by a leader of a local vigilante
group in one of the communities in Ughelli (name withheld) in Delta
State has been brought to the notice of the Nigerian Police.
The rape of the minor by the vigilante leader who is now on the run was reported at the Ughelli ‘A’ Police Division when the mother of the victim notice a milky discharge from the little girl’s private part.
According to a resident of the community, the mother of the 4-year-old thoroughly questioned her daughter after she noticed the milky discharged and the little girl was later able to identify the suspect who raped her.
“Probing further, the little girl was able to identify the vigilante leader as the person behind her ordeal.” The resident said.
Continuing, the resident added that; “Immediately, the matter was lodged at the Ughelli ‘A’ Division Police Station. But before the police could arrive, the suspect fled through the ceiling of the room he was locked in.”
A police officer attached to the Ughelli ‘A’ Division Police Station who confirmed the incident said: “We received a report of the incident. Investigation into the matter is ongoing.”
